Ruby A. Dvorkin, 95, of South Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Regency Square Care Center. Services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery following services.
Ruby Arlene Dvorkin (Quinn) was born July 13, 1922 in St Joseph, MO to John and Olive (Barclay) Quinn. She moved to Sioux City, IA in 1929 where she resided the majority of her life. Ruby married Nathan Dvorkin February 6, 1943. The last few years she has lived in South Sioux City.
Ruby received the most joy from her family and helping others. She was a champion for anyone who needed a helping hand. She volunteered at the South Sioux City Senior Center and loved cleaning tables/floors and serving at lunch. During WWII she worked at Wincharger on the assembly line.
Survivors include her sons, Barry Dvorkin, Bruce (Connie) Dvorkin; Daughter, Clare (Herschel) Petty; sister, Jean Koskovich; brother, Roland Quinn; grandchildren, Kendra Johnson, Shana Stanton, Joseph Dvorkin, Teena Dvorkin, Kyle Dvorkin, and Sam Petty; great grandchildren, Niko and Kayla Johnson, Cody and Kamber Dvorkin and Zachary Dvorkin; and one great great grandchild, Lily Dvorkin; and many niece and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nathan; son, Brian; brothers, Don and Gary Quinn; and sister, Elaine Miller.
