Roy Eugene Hullinger, 58, of Lawton, IA, passed away April 1, 2025.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 5 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Roy was born on June 1, 1966 in Sioux City, IA to Ray and Mary (Mogenson) Hullinger.  Roy enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until he was honorably discharged.  He was united in marriage to Marci Wachter on April 21, 2012 in Hinton, IA.  Roy worked in maintenance for Unity Point for over 19 years, and most recently as a postman.  Roy loved fishing, reading, and riding his motorcycle.  Roy was a talented, talkative, help anyone, fix anything type of guy.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Marci Hullinger; step-children: Madison and Christian Cortez; brother, Rob (Becky) Hullinger; sister, Raeann Hullinger; nieces and nephews: Nicole (Chris), Zach, Zane, Robert, Ryan and Alicia.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rose Hullinger; and nephew, Nathan Hullinger.

To everyone, anywhere, at anytime that struggles with mental illness, or just trying to navigate this world... I beg you to reach out, even if you feel you don’t deserve it.  Especially then, you don’t have to do it alone. The universe created a space for you in this world for a reason…
