Ronald Walter Thompson, 80 of Burbank, South Dakota passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 8, 2023.

Ronald (Ronnie) was born to Walter Thompson and Lucille Limoges on March 31, 1943 in Union County SD, living most of his life in Sioux City, Iowa. He attended West Jr High School.

He married Judy McNaughton on July 28, 1962 and to this union five wonderful children. He worked for Chesterman's (Coca Cola) bottling company for 41 years until his retirement in 2005.

Ronnie enjoyed his retirement at the cabin on the Vermillion River where he was always working on some project that brought him much satisfaction. His greatest joy was when his children and grandchildren would come to visit.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Judy, three sons, Ronald JR, (Leta) of Raymond, Nebraska, Vincent (Deanne) of Phoenix, Arizona Joseph (Alexis) of Mead Colorado, and two daughters Stacy Inselman of Syracuse, Nebraska, April Alstott, (Mike) of Iowa Falls, Iowa, three sisters, all of Sioux City Iowa, Carol Brown, Charlotte Vanderschaaf, and Colleen Allen. He was blessed with grandchildren, Amber, Seth, Roman (Mariah), Torin (Lynzey), Draven, Amber (Josh), Kyle, Ariah, Liv, and Mila and great grandchildren, Camryn, Eli, Luke, Delaney, Carter, Braxton, Presley, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Lucille, two sisters, Joanne Paulson and Kim Downs, two grandchildren Kalee Jo and Hannah Rose.

Per Ronnie’s request, a private family service was held.
