Ronald "Ronnie" Edward Smutzler

Ronald “Ronnie” Edward Smutzler, 79, of Sioux City, IA, passed away June 23, 2026. A private family graveside service will be held at Logan Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Ronnie was born on August 23, 1946 in Rugby, ND to William and Sarah (Haist) Smutzler. He graduated high school and worked as a Union Laborer in construction. He enjoyed camping and woodworking, making NFL and baseball themed birdhouses and squirrel feeders.

Those left to honor his memory include his children: Robbie (Denna) Smutzler, Bill (Genesis) Smutzler, Johnnie Smutzler, Amy Johnson, and Tina Tindle; brother, Dale Smutzler; brother-in-law, Gordon Thompson; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Janice (Don) Beyers and Jeanne Thompson; and brothers: Dallas Welch and David Welch.
