Ronald Robert Ronfeldt, 83, of Oto, IA, passed away February 22, 2025. A celebration of his life will be held 4-7:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at Waterbury Funeral Home, 4125 Orleans Ave Sioux City, IA 51106.

Ron was born July 12, 1941, to Earl & Hazel (Fisher) Ronfeldt of Smithland, Iowa. His siblings are Eugene, James, Dennis, David, and Stephen. Ron was married to Janet (Cory) on July 12, 1959, in Smithland, IA. They Celebrated 64 years together until her death in 2024. They had three children: Randy, Lisa (Joe) Crilly, Rob (Pam) Ronfeldt; 5 grandchildren: Colte, CJay, Andrew, Shelby, and Taylor.  Ron served on the Woodbury County Sheriff's Department for 28+ years until his retirement in 2000. He loved his time there and was very proud of his service to the community.

He is survived by his three children; 5 grandchildren; his brothers: James (Lila) and Stephen (Clarissa); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Earl and Hazel; his wife Janet; his first-born daughter, Deborah; and siblings: Eugene, Dennis, and David.
