Obituary

Ronald H. Chamberlain, 54 of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at a local hospital.


Funeral service will be held 1:00pm Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave, with Rev Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be at Omaha Valley Cemetery in Homer, Nebraska. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm with family present Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the Funeral Home.


Ronald was born May 17, 1961 in Sioux City, Ia the son of Harold and Bernice (Martineck) Chamberlain. He attended West High School, graduating in 1979. Continued his school at Morningside College for two years. Ronald worked at Transcisco, where he learned to weld which then put him working for Phillips Kiln. He spent the last of his career working for Port Neal Welding and was part of the Millwright Union.

Ron was such a fun loving guy. He was very active and athletic his entire life. He was a standout athlete in high school in football and basketball. He accepted a football scholarship to University of Nebraska before he got into a motorcycle accident and then attended Morningside College. He loved hanging out with his friends playing darts, Foosball, ping pong, hunting, fishing, any sport you can think of Ron enjoyed. Ron greatly enjoyed watching his girls in their athletics growing up. He was so proud of both Summer and Sage and loved them to the end of the world. He would do anything for his girls. Ron loved his two sisters unconditionally, as well as his three nephews Joseph, Chad, and Benjamin. Ron loved his friends as well. He would always be there for them and enjoyed spending his spare time with them as much as he could. He would help anyone in need, his friends, his family, and was very close with his daughters entire family. Ron was so happy to see his only grandchild Kylan Keegan come into his life, and loved him so much. Ron had such a great personality and was very outgoing and full of laughter. He could put a smile on anyone's face who was around him. He will be greatly missed by everyone who was in his life.


He is survived by two daughters; Sage Gordon Chamberlain (Jacob Keegan), and Summer Gordon both of Sioux City, two sisters; Diane Bobier of Des Moines, Pattie Hauswald of Sergeant Bluff, one Aunt Ada Mahrt (Don Mahrt). two nephews; Joseph Hauswald, Benjamin Bobier, one brother-in-law John Hauswald, special friend and mother of his children Paige Gordon, and one grandchild Kylan Keegan.


Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, two infant sisters and a nephew Chad Bobier.
