Roger D. Forslund, 57 of Sioux City, went home Thursday, February 28, 2013 to be with our Lord.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 4, 2013 at the First Evangelical Free Church, with Rev. Kevin Miller officiating. Visitation will be held at Waterbury Funeral Service 4-8 pm Sunday, with the family present 6-8 pm and the Prayer Service at 7 pm. Roger was born on February 11, 1956 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Richard and Ruth (Larson) Forslund. He attended school in Fort Dodge and later obtained his GED in the Job Core. He worked as a telemarketer in Fort Dodge.

Roger was united in marriage to Holly Nilles on July 26, 1985 in Fort Dodge. They moved to Sioux Cityin 1988, where he worked as a cook for the Siouxland Christian Day Care and later at Gateway.

Roger loved serving the Lord by being a Youth Leader and Sunday School Teacher. Roger had a passion for the Word of God and he maintained a huge home library help study the Word.

Roger was a prayer warrior who loved to serve the Lord.

Roger is survived by his wife Holly; his brothers Darrel Forslund and his wife Julie of Spencer, Iowa and Charles Forslund of Sioux City, Iowa; one sister, Sharon and her husband Terry Klinger of Boone, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
