Rodney "Rocky" Barnum, 84, of Hawarden, Iowa, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019. Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Sportsman's Lane & Lounge in Hawarden. Burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden immediately following the service.  Rocky’s celebration of life will continue after the burial at 105 8 ^th Street.

Rocky was born on October 29, 1934 in Hawarden to William "Bud" and Claire "Clara" (Bryson) Barnum.

Rocky worked at Don's Ready Mix for twenty-seven years and Joe's Ready Mix for twenty years, retiring in 2004. He was known to be somewhat of a "jack of all trades," even building wooden sheds without using any power tools.

Survivors include his brother, Darold Barnum of Hawarden; nephews Donald “Joe”  Barnum of Tampa, Florida, Troy Barnum of Littleton, Colorado, niece, Tammy Flittie and husband Bob of Fremont, Nebraska; and nephew Jason Barnum of Gillette, Wyoming; grandnieces, Elizabeth, Mariah, and Hailly; grandnephews, Andrew, Hunter, Keegan, Jacob, and Logan; and his beloved cat, Poncho.

Rocky was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Frank and Donald Barnum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
