Robin E. Leon, 52, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at a local hospital. Services will be held 7:00 pm, Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. A visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Robin was born on July 18, 1962, in Sioux City, the daughter of Evelyn (Graae) and Wesley Woods, Sr. Robin dedicated her life to her children; she was a single mother and raised her children on her own. Through challenging times, she was also like a mother to specific nieces and nephews: Adriana Acero, Marco Linares, Kevin Linares, and Lydia Woods. Robin played a fundamental role in her family; her love and caring for her family remained her focus, as she was a selfless, kind-hearted person. She would go out of her way to help anyone. Her personality had the ability to light the room.
Some of Robins favorite things were doing puzzles, collecting various knickknacks, fishing, walking by the river, antique shopping, and caring for her dog, Ludo. She also enjoyed watching movies, and various television shows; specifically, The Walking Dead. Every Sunday, the family would spend time together to watch The Walking Dead. Even though, it was her favorite show, Sunday was more about socializing with the family and enjoying a wonderful, home cooked, meal. Spending time with family was very important to Robin.
Robin is survived by her parents Evelyn and Wesley Woods, Sr., children: expecting parents Jose Leon and his fiancee Brandi Hughes, and Deseri and her husband Sekou Koita; brothers: Randy (Starla), Russ (Sherri), Wesley Jr. (Lori), and Jimmy Woods, sisters: Theresa Hahn and Melissa (Victor) Ramirez, all of Sioux City, one grandchild on the way, and many nieces, nephews, and relatives.
Robin was preceded in death by her brother Kevin.
