Robert Lee Woodson

Robert Lee Woodson, 86, of Sioux City, IA, passed away July 31, 2026. A memorial service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, August 25 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Robert or “Bob,” and even “blue eyes,” as many of his family and friends called him spent a large portion of his life working on his truck and boat (his pride and joy). He loved to spend the summers on the river, boating, camping, fishing and waterskiing. During the winters he would make his way to Texas, where he and Betty enjoyed decades of warm weather and sunshine. Sun kissed skin and toes in the sand were 2 things Bob loved yearlong!

He was a Crew Chief during his time in the service (Air Force) and loved to share his knowledge and love for what he referred to as “his engine”. The Pratt & Whitney R-2800 “Double Wasp”. The utter joy he expressed when talking about his engine was undeniable! A true mechanical genius, Bob could fix just about anything. His love for vintage cars and airplanes remained with him through all stages of his life.

Robert is survived by his loving lifelong partner, Betty; daughter, Renee (Nickey); stepdaughter, Kim (Rob); granddaughters: Samantha, Trista, and Amber; and the newest member of the family, his great grandson, Adrian.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Henrietta and his beloved grandson, Adam.
