Robert D. Wabasha, 77 of Winnebago, Nebraska entered the spirit world Saturday, February 1, 2025. Services will be held 2:00pm Friday, February 14 at the St. Paul's Indian Mission, Sioux City, Iowa. Burial will be in Congregational Cemetery, Santee, Nebraska. The Wake will be 7:00pm Wednesday and Thursday at the St. Paul's Indian Mission.
Robert Duane Wabasha was born on August 23, 1947, in Winnebago, Nebraska the son of William and Maxine (Saul) Wabasha.
Robert earned his GED in Eldora, Iowa. Robert and Carmen have been married for 58 years. Robert worked various jobs in the area including at IBP. During the 1990’s Robert was a card dealer at Casino Omaha. Robert was also an Iowa Hawkeye fan, and he loved going to the casino playing cards and going out to eat. In his 20's boxed for Tony Drake (golden gloves). Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and many grandkids and going to family Reunions.
Robert is survived by his wife Carmen Wabasha, his sons; Michael Thomas, Roland Wabasha, Wayland Wabasha, Devin Wabasha and Tirell Wabasha, his daughters; Robin Thomas and Carleen Thomas, 54 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren, his brother, Elroy Wabasha and sisters, Carol Bearshield, Brenda Wabasha and Theresa Wabasha.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Gary Wabasha, Dennis Wabasha and Billy Wabasha, his sister, Mary White and his baby granddaughter, Hannah Rose Thomas, and two grandsons, Devon Thomas, and Damon Griffin.
