Robert M. "Bob" Ruhrer, 76, of Sioux City, died Wednesday, August 14, 2024.  A Time of Sharing will be held 11:00 am Friday, August 23, 2024, at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Visitation will be from 10:00- 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Robert Michael Ruhrer was born on March 9, 1948, in Sioux City. Bob graduated in 1966 from East High School. Bob obtained an associate degree. Bob was married to Claudene Smith in Sioux City. Bob served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Bob started working in 1971 at Terra Industries until his retirement.

Bob coached Little League Baseball and soccer while his children were growing and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events over the years. He liked being outdoors enjoying nature and teaching his kids and grandchildren hunting and fishing. Bob also like watching his brother in-law Rich Smith play softball for Penn Corp. More recently, he enjoyed meeting the guys at the Paxton Tap for a cold one.

Bob is survived by his wife Claudene, sons Dax Ruhrer and Brent (Kristin) Ruhrer, grandchildren Kirstin, Tyler, Taylor and Kaitlyn, his great-grandchildren Chloe, Atticus, Kollin, Eric, and Kalaya and his sister, Linda Maxfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Craig, three sisters Sue Utesch, Sheri Case and Gina Ruhrer.
