Robert O. Butler, 85 of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023, at a local hospital. Celebration of Life will be held from 5-7pm Friday, September 8, 2023, at Pub 52 in Sergeant Bluff. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Robert was born February 9, 1938, in Waterville, Maine the son of Perley and Dorothy (Flagg) Butler. Robert enlisted into the United States Air Force on February 18, 1955, and was the Crew Chief. In 1968 Robert was deployed to Vietnam. He retired from Air Force in 1993 in Maintenance Control.

He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and was a member of the Sergeant Bluff American Legion.

Robert is survived by his significant other, Vicki, daughter, Julie (David) Masonbrink, two brothers, Bernard (Jean) Butler, Jon (Joan) Butler, four grandchildren, Rebecca Dvorak, Bobby Hike, III, Dustin Hike, Jena Hike and five great grandchildren, Madison, Ethan, Elaina, Matthew, Jessy.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Gregg Butler.
