Robert "Bob" Wayne Nairn, 76, of Sergeant Bluff, passed away on Saturday, January 8th, at Mercy One Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa. Graveside Service will be held 4:00pm Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Grand Meadow Cemetery, near Washta, IA. Following the service, there will be food and fellowship in Remsen, Iowa In lieu of flowers, feel free to donate to a local or national veteran organization in memory of Bob, his service, and his support for the men and women of our military.
Bob was born June 4, 1945, in Kinglsey, Iowa, to Forrest and Mildred (Little) Nairn. He grew up on a farm in rural Remsen, attending and graduating from Union School, in Union Township, in which he was active in sports and academics.
Bob joined the US Air Force and served in the Vietnam War as a radio operator coordinating air strikes. After being honorably discharged, Bob had a long career as a radio personality and singer/ guitar player, performing throughout the Siouxland area. He loved current events, playing pool and sports. Local area baseball teams knew Bob as a heck of a catcher. In recent years, Bob was an active supporter of local and national Veterans organizations.
Bob is survived by his siblings, Bethene (Kenneth) Maass of Remsen, Lanny (Donna) Nairn of Marlton, NJ, and Rhonda Nairn, Colorado Springs, CO.
