Robert Lee Schmidt, Sr, 80, of North Sioux City, South Dakota passed away at a local hospital Tuesday, December 22, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held 4pm-7pm Wednesday, December 30 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue, Sioux City, IA.

Robert Lee Schmidt, Sr. was born Sunday, December 22, 1940 to Harm and Alice (Bornitz) Schmidt in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Bob married Linda (Moreland) June 3, 1972. They enjoyed 48 happy years together. Bob was a character, enjoying every opportunity to tease someone or catch them in a joke they didn’t always understand until he explained it to them. He had an infectious laugh and was rarely upset. He loved the Nebraska Huskers, fishing with his friends, Nascar, Kansas City Chiefs, watching golf and football on television.

Bob will be missed by many including, his wife Linda; his children Robert Schmidt Jr, Todd (Ann) Schmidt, and Tyla (Andrew) Jasman; his grandchildren, Cody (Chantel) Schmidt, Brayden Jasman, Brandon Jasman, Bryant Jasman, Lani Schmidt, Malia Schmidt, Adrien Barrera, Gabe Barrera, and Carlos Carrera; great-grandchildren, Krue and Morggan Schmidt and Lincoln Jasman; brothers, Ken (Sharon) Schmidt and Larry (Lea) Schmidt; sisters, Sandy (Lonnie) Mockler and Bonnie (Greg) Brodsky.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his sister in law, Deanne Schmidt and his niece, Kelli Schmidt.
