Sergeant Robert R. Fredericksen of the United States Army passed away Monday, December 19, 2022, at his home, surrounded by family. Robert was born November 26, 1942, in Sioux City, Iowa son of Raymond and Jean (Gamble) Fredericksen, he was one of eight children.
He attended Riverview grade school. They moved to California where he graduated from Redondo High School. Sometime after graduating at the age of 25, he enlisted in the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War from 1967 til 1969. At the time of his honorable discharge on April 20, 1973, he achieved the rank of Sergeant Robert Fredericksen. He then moved from California to Sioux City, Iowa where he met his wife Glenda and started an amazing family whom he loved very much. In 1975 he opened and operated Bob Auto and served the community for over 45 years.
Most people knew Robert as Big Bob. Those who knew him knew he was a good husband, a great father, and the kind of friend who would give you the shirt off his back. He enjoyed working on cars; fishing and making people feel special.
He is survived by his son, Robert Jr. Frederickson, two daughters, Nacole Morey and Tammy Jo Murphy, nine grandchildren: Samantha, BrettaLynn, Deseray, Makayla, Shantel, Tre, Rayah, Katelynn Maire, Brittney, 10 great-grandchildren, two siblings, brother, Randy and sister, Beverly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Jean, wife, Glenda and 4 brothers: Ricki, Richard, Jerry and Ronnie.
The world will not be the same without Robert’s presence: Our loss is heaven gaining another angel.
