Ricky L. Borg, 69 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at a local hospital. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 13, from 2-5pm with a time of sharing at 4pm at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Ricky Lynn Borg was born October 1, 1951 in Sioux City, IA. to Edna Mae Lowell and Berton Willis Borg.  He attended West Central High School.  After high school Rick enlisted into the Army in July of 1969 and served as an E4 auto mechanic overseas with a tour in Vietnam and Germany, receiving an honorable discharge in July of 1975. Rick was a long time member of the local 430 labor union in Sioux City. He worked in variety of construction jobs throughout his career including Klinger Construction in Sioux City. He was also a field rep for the labor union for 5 years. Ricky also worked for the PTI van transport for BNSF railroad before he retired.

Rick had a passion for music. He performed since high school. After his retirement he focused solely on his music and playing with Central Time Band. Ricky was a very talented musician and song writer. He touched many, many, people with his music. Over the years he was a mentor, friend and teacher to many. He will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his son, Jamie Ackerly, daughter, Jessica Borg, a sister, Sandra Kae (Doug Nieman) Borg, brother, Terry Lee Borg, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents.
