Rick T. Morris, 62, of Sloan, IA, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at his residence.

Services will be held 10:00 am, Monday, May 16, 2016 at Holly Springs Bible Fellowship Church with Rev. Jim Thomas officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Climbing Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Rick was born on March 1, 1954 in Onawa, Iowa, the son of Robert and Lois (Sorenson) Morris. He grew up in the Hornick, Iowa area and graduated from Westwood High School in 1973. Rick married Laura Ratzsch on July 6, 1973 and to this union two children were born, they divorced in 1993. Rick married Patty Pierce in 1996 and they divorced in 2002. Rick stayed on good terms with both Patty and Laura following their divorces.

Rick was a farmer for most of his life, retiring in 2004. After retirement, he worked at Tyson Foods in the maintenance department until retiring in 2012 due to health issues. Rick enjoyed going to movies, old cars, and spending time with his family, especially his grandson.

Survivors include his mother, Lois Morris of Climbing Hill; daughters, Myra Morris of Texas and Marisa Morris and her husband Nate Curtis of Sioux City; grandson, Rylan Curtis and a granddaughter on the way; sisters, Janet (Gary) Ronfeldt of Schaller, IA, Marcia (Dan) Ronfeldt of Smithland, IA, and Vickie (Lee) Westergaard of Sloan, IA; his four beloved cat companions; and many other family members.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Robert Morris; brother, Robin Morris; and niece, Mindy Ronfeldt.
