Rick L. Fatland, 34 of Rosholt, South Dakota, died Friday, January 22, 2021 at MercyOne in Sioux City.

Services will be held 10 am Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Urban Native Center, 1501 Geneva Street, Sioux City. Burial will be in Omaha Tribal Cemetery in Macy, Nebraska.

Rick Lee Fatland was born on May 1, 1986, the son of Richard Medina and Rhonda Fatland. Rick went to West High School. Most recently, Rick worked as a cook at the Hickory Street Kitchen and Cocktails in Sisseton, South Dakota.

Rick enjoyed playing pool, darts and basketball. Rick liked to sing and listening to UGK and Al Green. He was just beginning to appreciate country music. Rick was very protective of his family, and was always helpful. He was one of the most kind and loving persons you could have ever met, and had a way of making those he met feel very loved, He was very much loved by his family and everyone as well.

Rick is survived by his children, Tru Lee Reynolds and Jayda Ray Whitethunder, parents, Richard Medina and Rhonda Fatland, brothers Rolin Fatland, Reese J. Fatland and Rolando Fatland, and his sisters Renee Carreto and Rainey Fatland.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Reese Nico Fatland.
