Richard L "Rick" Miller of South Sioux City, Nebraska, passed away June 15, 2015 peacefully at an area hospital.

A celebration of life will be 11:00 am, June 20, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church of Sioux City with Reverend Gerry Bruhn officiating. Visitation is Friday June 19, from 6pm to 8pm at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Richard "Rick" Miller was born March 28, 1950 to Leroy and Ila (Kunkel) Miller of Sioux City, Iowa. October 31, 1970 Rick was united in marriage to Rita Rich in South Sioux City. He worked for a well drilling company out of South Dakota until 1974. Then he started working for the City of South Sioux City Nebraska. Rick retired as a Supervisor for the Streets Department. Rick had received an award for 20 Years of Outstanding Service from the League of Nebraska Utilities. In 2001 he retired to spend time with his grandkids.

Rick was an avid fisher. He loved his grandkids and enjoyed their smiles and laughter and spent as much time with them as he could. He also loved spending time with his black lab Chipper. His mornings were spent having early morning coffee with his friends.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Rita; son Ronnie (Christi Sachau) Miller of Sioux City, Iowa; daughter Rana (Carry) Shilling of Sioux City; Sister Sandra Miller of South Sioux City, Nebraska; Sister-in-laws Shirley Christiansen of Onawa, Iowa, Betty Bobier and Loretta Blue both of South Sioux City; his brother in-law, Roger Sandau of Council Bluffs; and his grandchildren Andrew, Abbie, Michael, Kaylee, Anna, Ethan, and Timmy.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents, and 2 sisters Sherry Widner and Christine Sandau.
