Obituary

Richard Gayll “Grizz” McNaughton, 57 of South Sioux City, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 at a local hospital with his wife, children, family and friends by his side. Per his wishes, his body was cremated.

Services will be held at 1 pm Thursday at Glad Tiding Lighthouse Church in South Sioux City, with Rev. Michael Ring officiating. A visitation will be held 6-8 pm Wednesday evening with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. with Ralph Rogers officiating at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Rich was born on November 25, 1954 in Sioux City, the son of Leroy and Mildred (Fiscus) McNaughton. He grew up in Kansas and also in the surrounding Siouxland area.

Rich married Trish Schrader on June 22, 1974 at the Assembly of God Church in South Sioux City. Rich was employed at IBP/Tyson for a total of thirty-two years. He began as a Maintenance Mechanic and became a Maintenance Supervisor. Rich enjoyed wheeling and dealing, gun smithing, and leather working. He loved old country music, spending time with his friends and (most of all) Rich enjoyed spending time with his wife Trish and their three wonderful children.

Rich is survived by his wife Trish of South Sioux City; his sons, Joel of Gallatin Gateway, MT and Adam of Norfolk, NE; and his daughter Emily of Homer, NE; a brother, Benny Barnes of Sioux City; his sisters, Emma Easton of Sioux City, and Judy Thompson (Ron) of Sioux City; his father in-law, James Schrader of South Sioux City, his mother in-law Phyllis Schrader of South Sioux City; his sisters in-law Laurie Gardea of South Sioux City, Marlene McNaughton of Hutchinson, Kansas, Jeanette McNaughton of Vermillion, SD, and Dorothy McNaughton of Sioux City. Rich also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, and seven brothers Ed, Jim, Darrell, Phillip, Douglas, Russell, and Joseph Allen.
