Obituary
Richard J. “Rick” Holmes, 64 of Sloan, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at his residence.
An open visitation with the family present will be held 3-5 pm Saturday, July 19th at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue.
Rick was born in Sioux City on October 21, 1949, the son of James and Jervonne (Mathers) Holmes. He graduated in 1968 from East High School. He was united in marriage to Beverly J. Case in 1973.
Rick was employed with Cargill for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and playing softball.
Rick is survived by his wife Bev; his children Kelly Holmes (Steve Martin) and Jeremy (Jennifer) Holmes; two grandsons; his siblings, Harley (Deb) Holmes, Wendy (Dick) Chase and Jamie (Wade) Guffy; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one infant son Tracy Holmes.
