Richard W Ferguson ‘Fergie’ or ‘Twinkles’,92 of Sioux City and Sergeant Bluff, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at a local nursing home. Funeral and Masonic services will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 4, 2022 at Waterbury Funeral service of Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Fergie was born May 28, 1929 in Boone, Iowa the son of Virgil and Marie (Aspengren) Ferguson. He moved to Sioux City in 1933 where he attended grade school and middle school, moving to Sergeant Bluff in 1945 and graduating in 1948. Fergie was united in marriage to Artis Moss September 4, 1953 at Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City. He was employed with the C&NW Railroad, Sunshine Food Market for 34 years, then retired.  After retirement he worked part time at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes for 14 years. He and Artis enjoyed showing their dogs (Pugs) at dog shows all over the United States. They also enjoyed several cruises to the Hawaiian Islands. Artis passed away June 29, 2017.

Fergie was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Morningside Masonic Lodge 615, Past Master 1991, Shrine Camping Unit, International Shrine Clown Association, Sioux City Scottish Rites, Lifetime member of the Sioux Valley Kennel Club.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughter by heart, Bobbi (Matt) Kruse and their sons, Jaycin and Jonathan; a brother, Jerry (Sharon) Ferguson of Colorado.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Artis, sister, JoAnn Gregerson and an infant brother, Delbert Dean Ferguson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sioux City Police K-9 Unit, Sioux City Animal Control or Sioux City Humane Society.
