Obituary

Richard R. Boutch, age 86, of Sioux City died Tuesday August 14, 2012 at a local care facility.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday August 17, 2012 at 10:30 am from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City with Father Armand Bertrand officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites offered by George Nelson Post 662 of the American Legion. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 pm with the family present from 6-8 pm and a Vigil service held at 7:00 pm at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff. Richard was born in Jamestown, North Dakota on October 10, 1925, the son of Ralph and Theresa “Kachel” Boutch. He attended country schools in the Fried, North Dakota area and attended Jamestown High School.

He served his county as a member of the United States Army from 1949-1952 in Japan. Following his discharge he was united in marriage with Donna Neva on May 26, 1952 in Wimbedon, North Dakota. The couple lived for a short period of time in the Jamestown area where Richard farmed then moved to Menominee, Wisconsin, before moving to Sioux City in 1967.

Richard worked in sales for a number of years before driving a truck for Salsbeck Trucking Co for many years retiring in 1987. Following his retirement he worked as a volunteer at Trinity Heights.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, George Nelson Post 662 of the American Legion, a lifetime member of the VFW and the NRA.

Richard loved to play pool, camp, boat, fish hunt and traveling the country in his RV following his retirement.

Richard will be missed by his family which includes his wife of 60 years Donna of Sioux City, his three sons: Ronald and his wife Dawn of Harrisburg, South Dakota, Gregory and his wife Missy of Lawrence, Kansas, and Ricky of Orange, Texas, his two daughters: Jackuelien Martin of Beaumont, Texas, and Colleen White and her husband Dennis of Sioux City. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and his 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, great- granddaughter Bailey Hupke, a brother Robert Boutch, and sister-in-law Evon Boutch.
