Randall L. Samson, 66 of Salix, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at a hospital in Sioux City.

Funeral service will be held 10:30am Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Salix Community Methodist Church in Salix, with Pastor Catie Newman officiating. Private family burial will be held Tuesday, January 12, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm Sunday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Randall “Randy” Samson was born September 13, 1949 in Rapid City, South Dakota the son of A. Dale and Shirley (McGovern) Samson. Randy attended High School in Emerson, Nebraska. He then went on to work at Floyd Valley Packing Plant from 1972 to 1986 where he was a Business Agent and President of the Union. Randy worked at MCI from 1987 to 1998. He currently owned and operated Walker’s Bar and Restaurant in Salix, with his wife Rhonda. He was married to Karen (Kennelly) to which one son Eric was born. He later married Wanda (Dutton) to which one daughter Jessica was born. In 1995 Randy married Rhonda to which one son Walker was born.

Randy enjoyed fishing, boating, music, dancing and loved being around and entertaining his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Rhonda of Salix, two sons; Eric (Lisa), of Sioux City, Walker of Salix currently serving in Japan ,for the Navy, one daughter Jessica (Patrick ) Strong, of Santa Monica, Ca. one sister Roxanne (Randy) Voss of South Sioux City, Nebraska and two grandchildren Kacie, Josie Samson of Denver, Co.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; John and Robin.
