Ralph "Mickey" C. Derochie

Ralph "Mickey" C. Derochie, 93, of Sioux City, IA passed away June 1, 2026 at a local care center. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 20 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Anthon, IA.

Memorials may be sent in Ralph’s name to St. Croix Hospice or charity of your choice.

Mickey was born on September 26, 1932 in Jefferson, SD to Clifford and Leona (Sorenson) Derochie. Mickey married Ella Miller on February 2, 1952 in South Sioux City.

He held various jobs throughout his career. Mickey enjoyed camping, and going to Texas for the winter. He also enjoyed going to drag races with his boys, traveling at the spur of the moment, going to the coffee shop with his friends, the holidays, and being around people. Mickey loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He attended all sporting events for all of his grandchildren. He always looked forward to his special niece, Tanya, calling him every day at 4:30 to check in with him.

Those left to honor his memory include his children: Deb Green of South Sioux City, Ronald (Ann) Derochie of Hinton, Neal (Cheryl) Derochie of Sioux City, and Carla (Rick) Elliott of Sioux City; 6 grandchildren, Robert (Amie), Justin (Nicky), Jason (Kayla), Cory, Tyler, and Trevor; 8 great grandchildren, Brady, Kaylee, Eli, Gavin, Lola, Noah, Lenyx, and Lowyn; brother, Dennis "Dennie" Derochie; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog and companion, Penny.

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ella of 67 years, siblings, son-in-law, Bob Green.
