Raejean Ann Furne

Raejean Ann Furne, 71, of Lawton, IA, passed away April 2, 2026 at a local hospital. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 17 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, Iowa, 417 E. Birch St. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Raejean was born on June 1, 1954, in Council Bluffs, IA to Raymond and Jean (Nugent) Pacholke. She attended elementary and high school in Council Bluffs, North English and Monona. Raejean was united in marriage to Jerry Furne on August 10, 1975, in Monona, IA. She went on to attend Morningside University where she majored in math and minored in computer science. At Morningside she made friends with a group later deemed “The Herd”. She worked at Terra Industries. Raejean enjoyed cross-stitching, collecting horses and stuffed animals, camping, and being a homebody. She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, where she was on the church board and in the choir.

Raejean was kind to everyone she met and was fiercely loyal and gentle. She had a big heart and anyone who knew her would agree. Raejean made a lot of friends through her journey called life and stayed close with all whom she called a friend.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Jerry Furne and daughter, Angie (Furne) Garske. Also to honor her memory are several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Richard and David Pacholke and sister Marsha (Pacholke) Koughn.
