Phyllis J. Stapleton, 61, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, October 04, 2012 at her residence. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Rev. Henry Witte officiating. A visitation will be starting at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, at the church. Per her wishes, Phyllis will be cremated following the service.

Phyllis was born March 10, 1951 in Sioux City, the daughter of Philip and Delores (Castleton) Townsley. Phyllis did volunteer work for the Gospel Mission for several years. She loved playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles, she also enjoyed talking on the phone. Phyllis was a loving mother and wife. She had a big heart and was a mother to everyone she met.

Survivors include her husband Garry Stapleton, sons: Gary and Cyndi Townsley, Sr., Rodney and his wife Jennifer Stapleton, Hoss Stapleton, Gary Townsley, Jr, all of Sioux City, and Jordan Townsley of Fort Dodge, Iowa, daughters: Wendy Townsley of Sioux City, brother Phil and his wife Denise Townsley of Sioux City, sister Vera Lopez of Sioux City, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents.
