Phyllis Jean Kelly, 87 of Salix, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 17, 2024, at her home.

Funeral Services will be held 11 am Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the United Methodist Church in Salix, Iowa with Pastor Catie Newman officiating.  Burial in Sloan Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be 1 hour prior at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Phyllis the daughter of Leon and Cecile (Graham) Eveleth was born March 10, 1937, in Salix, Iowa. She graduated from Salix Consolidated School in 1955. Following graduation, she worked at Universal C.I.T. Credit Corporation and in her later years worked for Stanley Home Products and Econo Foods.

On February 6, 1956, she was united into marriage to Ronald Kelly at the Salix United Methodist Church. They enjoyed traveling with their travel trailer and camping. She was an active long-time member of the Salix United Methodist Church and also a member of the Salix Neighbor Club. Phyllis also enjoyed doing crafts and most of all loved to be with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald, son Richard Kelly, daughter Deborah Petersen, 7 grandchildren, Chad Kelly, Kala Hansen, Christopher Kelly, Cruise Kelly, Nic Huff, Justin Huff and Anthony Huff, 9 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Sophia, Gunnar, Ryder, Emma, Cohen, Liam, Ivy, Jasmine, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Edwin Eveleth.
