Phyllis J. Edwards, 90 of Sioux City, died Saturday, August 9, 2014 at a local care facility.
A memorial service in her memory will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue.
Phyllis was born on May 17, 1924 in Huron, South Dakota, the daughter of Roy and Fern (Moltz) Curtis. She graduated in 1942 from the Huron High School. On February 8, 1947, she was united in marriage to Harold (Hig) Edwards.
Phyllis worked over the years at the Battery Building in Sioux City, Bush Cleaners, and until her retirement in 1986, at the M&S Company as a bookkeeper.
She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, reading and traveling and camping with her family. On May 17th of this year (her 90th birthday), a family reunion was held.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Vickie and her husband Vince Henrichsen of Sioux City; her son Roy Edwards and his wife Sue of Clearwater, Florida; her grandchildren, Tracy Walbert, Shelly Clarey, Brooke Eversoll, Taylor Borucki and Megan Wilson; her great grandchildren, Jaycee Clarey, Emily Walbert, Ethan Clarey and Kaley Wilson; her sisters, Ellaine James of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Jeannie Radel of Omaha, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold, and her brothers Donald Curtis and Richard Gary Curtis.
