Pauline Olive Phillips, 93 of Orange City, formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday, June 11, 2015.
Funeral services will be at 10 am on Tuesday, June 16 at Central Baptist Church, 4001 Indian Hills Drive in Sioux City. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, June 15 at Waterbury Funeral Services of Sioux City at 4125 Orleans from 4 to 8 pm, with the family in attendance from 6-8 pm. Sharing of prayers and memories will begin at 7 pm.
Polly was born on February 28, 1922 in Manchester, Iowa to Gertie Raney Moore and Robert Lewis Moore.
She attended Burt Public Schools for most of her education but graduated from Wesley High School in 1939. She married Andy J Phillips in 1943 and gave birth to five children between 1945 and 1965. Andra (Lu) Zach, Jill (Clif) Haefs, Trudy Hemmelman, Andy (Linda) Phillips, and Tracy Phillips.
In addition to her 5 children, Polly is survived by her sister, Arla Gifford of Algona, Iowa. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren/stepgrandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren/step grand-children, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one sister, two grandsons and one granddaughter.
Polly lived in Orange City, Iowa for 3 years and died there after being enrolled in Hospice for 5 months.
Pallbearers are Pete Haefs, Aaron Phillips, Myron Seely, Jared Phillips-Zobel, Mike Saul, and Andrew Hemmelman.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Orange City Hospice or Gospel Mission of Sioux City.
