Paul S. Skelton, 78 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026 at St Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with a luncheon at the fellowship hall after the interment. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
Paul was born May 14, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa; he was the son of Richard and Peggy (Meyers) Skelton. He grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1967. Paul continued his education receiving his Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry at Briar Cliff College. On December 11, 1976 he married Mary Anne Blum and together they were blessed with 1 son: Michael and 3 daughters: Melissa, Janine, and Amber.
Paul worked in the laboratory at IBP (now Tyson Fresh Meats) for 42 years, serving many of those years as director, before retiring in 2015. Paul enjoyed playing softball, hunting, fishing, and traveling. Above all, Paul cherished spending time with his family and playing games with his grandchildren.
Left to honor his memory are his wife of 49 years, Mary Anne; three daughters: Melissa (Hany) Asr, Janine (Jacques) Rheaume, Amber (Ruben) Zuniga, three brothers: Richard (Sandy) Skelton, Dennis (Sandy) Skelton, Wayne (Pat) Skelton, two sisters: Ethel (Donnie) Lea, Cindy Hofmeister, sister-in-law: Kathy Skelton and five grandchildren: Mazen (Megan) Asr, Gabriel Asr, Kaleesi Rheaume, Trinity Zuniga and Elsie Zuniga.
Paul was welcomed home by his parents, son, Michael Lee Blum, brother, Robert Skelton, sister, Robin Ford, and father and mother-in-law, Francis C. and Gertrude Blum.
