Paul C. Patterson, 71, of Moville, IA passed away peacefully January, 13th, 2026 with his daughter at his side. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January, 22nd at 11:00a.m.at Jeff’s Bar in Moville, IA. Paul was born July 25th, 1954, in Schaller, IA to Lester and Sophie (Majewski) Patterson. He grew up in Pierson, IA graduating from Kingsley-Pierson High School with the “Class of 72”.

Through the years Paul worked at Schaff Namco right out of school, in addition he worked seasonally helping drive trucks for Davy’s and Jim Feed Store. He later started a long hauler position driving trucks for Jebro Inc. in Sioux City, IA. from where he retired in July, of 2019.

From a young age, Pauly was known as the guy that could plan a party for just about anything, as long as there was a great band or good music at the center of it.Paul also had a love for life and all things outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and especially a good ole fireworks show. Indoors he could be found, sitting at many local pubs, and surrounding communities in great conversations, playing in pool tournaments, card games, telling a joke, or sitting at a record player for the holidays or no special occasion at all. Paul could hear two chords of a song, and give you the title and the artist. He found simple joy in collecting things, the old shows, and could probably recite every episode of MASH.

Paul was a lot of things to many, a proud grandfather, father, brother, husband, uncle, and the very best kind of friend, he built a big love and a gentle heart around all these things. Paul married Debbie Koch, the love of his life on October 20th, 2019 after 27 years of courtship (or as Dad would say adequate training).

Paul is survived by his daughter Paula (Todd) Roling, three grandchildren: Colton (Kallie) Etler, Ashton Roling (Brandon), Trinaty Roling, three great granddaughters: Hadley Margaret, Everly Lynn Marie & Eyra Jade. His brother Lawrence (Daletta) Patterson, nieces and nephews: Chad, Aaron, Jen (Wade), Tricia (Jim), Jamie (April), their children and families, in addition to many past and present family members, friends, and acquaintances.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Debbie, step son Derek, and some of the best friends a guy could ask for.
