Paul Holmes, 79, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by his family on September 28, 2024.  A funeral service will be held Friday, October 4 at 10:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Redeemer Lutheran Church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Paul was born on May 22, 1945, in Sioux City, IA to John and Dorothy (Buchanan) Holmes.  He went to Central High School and then enlisted in the United States Army, before being honorably discharged.  He was united in marriage to Cindy Miille on December 30th, 1985.  Paul worked at Stone Container, which is now WestRock, for almost 30 years.  His love in life was golfing, but he also enjoyed fishing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Indianapolis Colts, and going to Bingo every Friday night.

Those left to honor his memory include his children Brittany (Travis) Andersen, Kimberly Holmes, Shannon Holmes; Siblings: Barbara Schelling, Joan Heiner, Alfred Holmes, John Holmes, Karen McQueen, and Richard Holmes, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Patricia Hendersen and Janet Fitzpatrick.
