Paul E. Hodgins, 77 of Sioux City, died Friday, August 18, 2017.
Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Paul Eugene Hodgins was born on December 20, 1939 in Sioux City, the son of Daniel and Irene (Smith) Hodgins. The family lived in Jackson, Nebraska and moved to Sioux City in 1954. He graduated from Heelan High School in 1958. On October 19, 1963 Paul was united in marriage to Marilyn “Margo” Johnson.
Paul worked at Miller Brother’s Furniture, I.B.P. and later at MCI, when he retired in 2005. He was a long time member and supporter of the United Food / Commercial Workers Local 222. He also was a supporter of the United Way of Siouxland.
Paul loved to spend time with his family, especially watching his 4 grandchildren grow into young adults. He also enjoyed watching westerns on TV.
Paul is survived by his wife Margo, his 3 daughters, Tamie (Glen) Farrer, Tracie Reeves (Larry Peterson) and Tonie Hodgins, all of Sioux City, his grandchildren Shelby Farrer of Omaha, 2nd Lt. Dakota Farrer (2nd Lt. Evan Kraemer) of Fort Campbell, KY, LeeAnn Reeves (Tyler Bellis) of Fort Worth Texas, John Paul Reeves of Sioux City; and a great-granddaughter Chloe Bellis of Fort Worth, Texas; his brothers; Pat Hodgins, Bill (Joan) Hodgins, Doug Hodgins (Randi Adams), Emmett (Robyn) Hodgins, Ron Hodgins, Steve (Mary) Hodgins, his sisters; Donna Young, Rose McNaughton, and countless nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James (Beverly) Hodgins, his sisters, Betty (Chuck) Newburn, Margaret Hodgins, his brother in-laws James Young and Jerry McNaughton and a sister in-law, Shirley Hodgins.
The family would like to say a special “Thank you” to all of his Hospice support staff, Recovery of Sioux City, and family friend Dawn Miller for all of their assists during this difficult time.
