Paul Douglas Dean, 70, of Sioux City, IA, went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2026 at a local hospital. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at Omaha National Cemetery. A local celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Paul was born on February 19, 1956 in Sioux City, IA to Lloyd and Donnafae (Butler) Dean. He graduated from Central High School before pursuing studies in electronic communications and vehicle body mechanics at WIT. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a mechanic from 1982 to 1995, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Paul found joy in collecting model cars, fishing, and exploring the wonders of both the cosmos and imagined worlds through books and movies.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Lisa Dean; sisters: Linda Evers and Geryl (Tom) Foster; and brother, Thomas (Debra) Dean.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard and brother-in-law, Marlin Evers.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Paul’s honor to support them during this time of loss.
