Patti R. Salter, 69, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by her family on February 11, 2025.  A memorial service will be held Friday, February 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at St. Luke Lutheran Church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.  Burial will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Patti was born on September 9, 1955, in Fort Dodge, IA to Edward and Roselyn (Elmore) Hoffman.  She grew up in Ft. Dodge and graduated from Ft. Dodge High School.  She was united in marriage to Steve Salter on May 10, 1975, together the couple moved to Sioux City, IA.  Patti worked at Hy-Vee for over 24 years before retiring.  She enjoyed gardening, baking, and trying her luck at casinos.  She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and especially loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.  She will be missed by many.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters: Sarah Nelson; Shawna (Adam) Harrington, and Shelby (John) Dailey; grandchildren: Brittany Nelson, Brooklyn Nelson, Stephen Engelbrecht, Payton Morgan, Davis Harrington, Cora Salter, Lucy Harrington, Tessa and Henry Dailey; brother, Mike (Julie) Hoffman; sister and brothers-in-law: Sam (Marilyn) Salter, Kathy (Kevin) Crimmins, and Tim Salter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steve; and sister-in-law, Shelly Salter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a donation in Patti’s name.
