Patrick M. Whitlock, 60, of Sioux City, passed away, Sunday, May 4, 2014 at a local hospital. Funeral Services will be held 6:00 pm, Friday, May 9, 2014 at Community of Christ Church, 3232 Transit Ave, Sioux City, with Rev. Gene Stockton, Pastor of Heartland Community Baptist Church, officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 pm with family present, prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.
Pat was born on January 19, 1954 in Sioux City, the son of Donald and Wanetta (Denney) Whitlock, Sr. He graduated from Central High in Sioux City and married Patricia Skarin on February 14, 1973 in Moville, Iowa.
Pat was a life-long trucker, loved his Harley, and was an avid outdoorsman. His greatest enjoyment was going to the river, fishing and boating with his children and grandchildren. Pat was very personable and had a keen sense of humor, he was well-liked by everyone he met. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son.
Survivors include his wife, Patty, mother Wanetta Whitlock, children: Tiffany (Chad) Huss, Jenni (Jeff Perera) Whitlock, Daniel (Lindsey) Whitlock, David Whitlock, and Britta (Ben Verdoorn) Whitlock, five grandchildren: Aiden and Brennan Tank, Austin and Conner Huss, and Dekeyn Whitlock (who calls his grandpa “magapaga”), siblings: Donald (Patti) Whitlock, Jr., Tim (Jenney) Whitlock, Dennis Whitlock, Theresa Whitlock, Russ (Adrienne) Whitlock, Lori (Chad) Johnston, and Jamey Whitlock.
Pat was preceded in death by his father Donald Whitlock, Sr., brothers: Rick and David, and infant son Patrick.
