Patricia Ann Ellis

Patricia Ann Ellis, 80, of Sioux City, IA, was reunited with her heavenly father on March 21, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 28 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Patricia was born on February 13, 1946, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Gene and Shirley (Laddusaw) Custer. She met the love of her life, Richard Ellis, and the two were united in marriage on April 26, 1968. Together, they built a wonderful life and family filled with love and cherished memories.

Patricia was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She spent many years working as a lunch lady at Everett Elementary, where she was known for her kindness, warm smile, and the genuine care she showed to every child she served until her retirement. Patricia also worked at the bingo hall, where she developed a love for playing bingo and made many lifelong friends.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Patricia loved doing word searches, playing bingo, and going shopping. She also had a special love for playing UNO—where she earned the playful nickname “Cheater McGee.” She cherished time spent with her family and took great pride in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow. Her faith in God was an important part of her life and guided her with strength and grace.

Patricia is survived by her children, Allan (Nancy) Ellis of Surprise, Arizona, and Rick Ellis and Lisa Ramirez of Sioux City, Iowa; her grandchildren, Tyler (Ashley), Skylar (Sierra), Taylor, Mauricio (Rachel), Lindsey (Jesse), Araceli (Kyler), and Chloe; and her great-grandchildren, Natalya, Madisyn, Kinnick, Lillian, Draven, Dean, Meadow, and Carver. She is also survived by her brothers, Dennis and TerryLee, as well as her beloved dog, Belle, grand-dog, Izzy, and cat, Tinker.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard; her mother, Shirley; her father, Gene; her sisters, Linda, Carol, and Tina; and her brothers, Garry, Guy, and Randy.

Patricia will be remembered for her loving heart, her unwavering dedication to her family, and the joy and laughter she brought to those around her. Her memory will live on in the lives of all who loved her.
