IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia J.
Beintema
November 9, 1935 – April 2, 2018
Patricia Jean Beintema (GG), 82, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away in her home with family by her side on Monday, April 2, 2018. Memorial Service will be 3:00 Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation will be held from 1-3pm with family present from 2-3pm Friday, April 6 at the funeral home.
Patty was born November 9, 1935 in Stevens, South Dakota to Louella Mattie Hoffman and Glenn Sharron Edwards. She married Roland (Slim) Wayne Beintema on June 15, 1973 in Elk Point, South Dakota. Growing up, Patty was an Ice Skater baton twirler and taught herself most of what she knew. She was also a Girl Scout leader in her younger years. She and Slim eventually moved on to own the Park-Inn on Riverside Blvd. Once that endeavor came to an end they followed their hearts to Texas. Patty became a cook at Thom Thumb and retired after 20 years. If you ask anyone, they’d tell you her chicken salad was the best they’ve ever had. Patty was born to bake and cook and she made the best fudge around. She shared her love of Bingo with family and it soon became a Sunday tradition. In 2008, she and Slim moved back to Iowa to be closer to family. She was super fond and proud of all her grandchildren, but her great grand babies soon became the love of her life. She enjoys gardening, birds, spending time with her family, and talking on the phone with those afar.
Patty is survived by her husband, Roland Beintema (Slim) of Sioux City, Iowa, her seven children, Terri Pithan (Merle) of Sioux City, June Ristau of Sioux City, Jeff Beintema of Fernley, Nevada, Roxanne Aasen (John) of Fort Worth, Texas, Brenda Watkins of Joshua, Texas, Glen Morey (Missy) of Sioux City, and Helen Moss of North Sioux City; siblings, Johnny Edwards (Jolene), Diana Miller, Rozella Mannion (Gary), Randy Edwards (Sue). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents (Louella and Glenn), Cynthia Morey, Rex Morey, Glen Edwards, Duane Edwards, Lorraine Frazee, Joyce McPeek, and Madonna Semple.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice of Siouxland.
