Osbaldo “Ozzy” Uriel Bautista Vasquez, 23, of Vermillion passed away due to health complications on May 3rd, 2023 at a hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the Cathedral of the Epiphany. Burial will be private to family in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-7 pm Monday, May 8, 2023 with a Rosary starting at 5 pm with Deacon Jose Luis Guzman at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Osbaldo was born March 7, 2000 in Sioux City to Maria Vazquez and Omar Bautista. Osbaldo graduated from West High School in 2018 and worked at several places - most notably Hy-Vee, Seaboard, and recently for Casey’s in Vermillion, where he lived.
Osbaldo is survived by his daughter Oaklii; parents Maria and Omar; siblings Seila, Fredi, and Jovanni Bautista; aunts and uncles Yolanda, Estela, and Miguel Vazquez, Inocente, Teresa, Edemisia, Rene, Eduardo, Filadelfo, and Norberto Bautista; grandparents Agustin Vazquez, Eduardo and Maria Cleofas Bautista; significant other Aaliyah Stephenson; among many other relatives and friends.
Osbaldo was preceded in death by his grandmother Rupertina Pineda.
Osbaldo was known to many as a beloved character determined to make those around him laugh, whether that be by his actions or jokes. He could become friends with absolutely anyone and have a good time. He had a big heart that would help anyone that asked of him. His artistic talents outshined his academic talents - growing up he would always prefer art classes to any others and would draw whenever he was given the chance. He was a kind soul with a beautiful smile that adored his daughter and the time he was able to spend with her. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Osbaldo nació el 7 de Marzo 2000 en Sioux City, hijo de María Vázquez y Omar Bautista. Osbaldo se graduó de West High School en 2018 y trabajó en varios lugares, sobre todo en Hy-Vee, Seaboard, y recientemente para Casey's en Vermillion, donde vivía.

Osbaldo era conocido por muchos como un personaje querido decidido a hacer reír a los que le rodeaban, ya sea por sus acciones o chistes. Podría convertirse en amigo de absolutamente cualquier persona y pasar un buen rato. Tenía un gran corazón que ayudaría a cualquiera que se lo pidiera. Sus talentos artísticos eclipsaron a sus talentos académicos: al crecer siempre prefería las clases de arte a cualquier otra y dibujaba cada vez que se le daba la oportunidad. Era un alma amable con una hermosa sonrisa que adoraba a su hija y el tiempo que pudo pasar con ella. Todos los que lo conocieron lo extrañarán mucho.
