Nickolas Johnson, 86, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery following services.

Nick was born on March 13, 1932 in Sioux City, IA to George and Sadie (Butrous) Johnson. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in August 1953.

Nick loved going fishing and betting on the races at the Sports Center in North Sioux City. He worked various different jobs throughout his life and was a licensed Ham Radio Operator.

Nick married Jeannie Smith from Tacoma, WA and together they had two children, Nicky Steven and Sharmaloy. Nick and Jeannie later divorced and he married Nancy Coyne and they had one son together, they later divorced. Nick had two children with his friend, Norma; daughter, Cheri Downing and her husband Gilbert of Bronson, IA, and son, Jason (Julie) of Tacoma, WA. Nick also has many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Other survivors include his three sisters, Charlene (Dicus) Rush, Rosemarie "Ethel" Wood, both of Sioux City, and Sara Torfin of Sacramento, CA.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Lorraine Maffet; and three brothers, Thomas Johnson, Joe Terefone, and Jim Terefone.
