Neta I. Selby, 88 of Sioux City, died Friday, January 15, 2016 at her residence.
Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Neta was born on January 8, 1928 in Sioux City, the daughter of Walter and Mabel (Betzer) Copenhaver. In 1946 she graduated from the Bronson High School. Neta was united in marriage to Cecil L. Selby on June 16, 1946. They made their home in Bronson until moving to Sioux City in 1960. Due to Cecil’s work for the Department of Agriculture, they moved in 1963 to Ottumwa, Iowa and in 1976 to Jefferson City, Missouri. After Cecil died in Jefferson City in 1993, she moved back to Sioux City.
Neta was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing for family and friends. She also loved to sing and sang with the Women’s Barber Shop group. She was a member of the Morningside Presbyterian Church.
Neta is survived by her son, Aaron (Mary) Selby of Ankeny, her daughter, Sheila Selby of Sioux City, one grandson, Brian (Angela) Selby, and three great grandchildren: Koby, Addison, and Cameron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Jeanette Stevenson and one grandson, Brent Selby in 1996.
