Nellie Todd, 86, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Westwood Specialty Care. Services will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A family visitation will be held following the service.

Nellie was born on August 12, 1930 in Jackson, Nebraska to Roy and Sidney (Johnson) Todd. She graduated high school in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

Nellie married Howard Carswell in Sioux City, together they had two sons. The family moved to Carroll, Iowa in 1959, then she moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1982, and finally back to Sioux City in 2006.

Nellie enjoyed going to casinos and horse races. She worked as a medical transcriptionist, and was retired by the time she moved back to Sioux City.

Survivors include her sons, Doug Carswell and his wife Ruth of Riverton, Illinois and Pat Carswell of Scottsdale, Arizona; sisters, Naomi Butcher of Sioux City and Grace Church of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; many grandchidren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; one brother; and one sister.
