Neil W. Edwards, 74, of Sioux City, passed away following a long battle with cancer, Monday, May 26, 2014 at his residence. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 30, 2014 at Trimble United Methodist Church with Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Thursday evening, May 29, 2014 at the Church. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Neil was born on October 14, 1939, in Sioux City, the son of Jess and Dorothy (Atwood) Edwards. Neil graduated from Central High School and married Patricia Donovan on September 10, 1960 in Sioux City. He worked for Flasco as a welder machinist from 1989 until he retired in 2011. Neil loved the outdoors, camping at Cottonwood Landing with his family, boating, fishing, and he also loved old cars.

Survivors include his mother Dorothy Edwards of Sioux City, children: Jeff (Tina) Donovan, Roma Brown, Jess Edwards, Anna Marie Terrones all of Sioux City, JoAnn (Raymond) Hempel of Tennessee, and Cindy Bates of Sioux City, siblings: “Aunt” Ruth Grossenbacher of Florida, Darrell Edwards of Mississippi, and Tom Edwards, of Sioux City, 30 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Neil was preceded in death by his father, wife, brother Charles, son Jamie, and daughter Susan.
