Nancy Ann Goetsch, 86 of Sioux City, passed away surrounded by her family December 28, 2023.  Abiding by her wishes cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of life was held.

Nancy was born September 7, 1937, in Sanford, NC to Raymond and Jemimia Cox, the baby of 8. She met the love of her life, Roger L. Goetsch in Sanford, NC while he was stationed at Fort Bragg. They were united in marriage May 26, 1955, in Chesterfield, SC., a love story that has lasted over 68 years. They made their home in Sioux City in 1957. Nancy attended beauty school in Sioux City and worked at Younkers for few years before starting their family. Nancy was a stay-at-home mom until her children were grown. She then helped out at the family business, Sioux City Carpet, until she retired in 1997.Nancy loved her family deeply. She enjoyed traveling, camping, vacations in Myrtle Beach with family and all holidays. Her hobbies included cooking, playing cards, bingo and watching the Hawkeyes. She was very friendly and often got caught up visiting with strangers while shopping.

She is survived by her husband, Roger, daughters, Vicki (Gary) Wanderscheid, Lori (Mike) Hartnett, son Jerry (Heather)Goetsch,11grandchildren, Tiffany (David) Mazur, Nicholas (Becca) Socknat, Nick (Jill) Wanderscheid, Michael (Kara) Hartnett, Megan (Tyler) Hartnett, Ashlee Goetsch Harrell (Drake), Timothy, Catilyn, Cayden, Max and RJ Goetsch, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Martin and Leslie Goetsch.  brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond "Buck" (Donnie Vee) Cox, Aubrey Foster (Faye) Cox, Curtis (Leona) Cox, Alvis Cox, John (Geneva) Cox, sisters, Greta (Herman) McNeil Louise (Wesley) Stack, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Rolland and Mary Jane Goetsch, Jerry and Mary Goetsch, Marvin and Blanche Goetsch, Clair and Beverly Junck, Connie and Joann Johnson.
