Miles R. Olsen, 101 of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, formally of North Sioux City, South Dakota, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Embassy Healthcare Community in Sergeant Bluff.
Services will be held 10 am Tuesday, August 22th at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2039 S. St. Aubin Street, with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.
Miles Robert Olsen was born on May 26, 1916 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Leo and Laura Olsen. He married Elaine Fulton of Sioux City on September 2, 1944.
He worked in construction most of his life with Klinger & Chris Hansen Construction Company.
He was a hard worker and always put his wife and children first. He loved to tinker in his shop, ride his bicycle and especially loved watching the squirrels at his feeders. He was an amazing husband and father, always putting others first. He has a zest for life and will be missed by his family and friends.
Miles is survived by his wife Elaine, 3 daughters, Vicki and Howard Wick of Madison, SD, Luella Stone of Sioux City, Bobbie and Jerry Logemann of Sergeant Bluff, one son, Mike and LaDonna Olsen of Everly, Iowa, 18 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Hazel Clarice and a son, Patrick Olsen, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
