Mildred M. Paxson, 70 of Sergeant Bluff, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at a local care facility. Celebration of life will be held 4-8pm Thursday, January 14, 2016 with a time of reflection at 6:00pm. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff, 400 4th Street. Arrangement are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Millie was born on September 5, 1945 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Shirley Johnson.

Millie was a lifelong resident of Sgt. Bluff. She volunteered and donated her time as a foster parent, throughout her years she fostered over 57 children. She was extremely active with the community senior center and any events that were held in the community. Millie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sgt. Bluff.

Millie will be remember as being the life of the party and never short of a witty comeback!

Survivors include her son John Freeman, daughter Chelsea Paxson, and brother Paul “Pete” Johnson.

Millie was preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy.
