Mike Muir, 67 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 at a hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. Services will be held 12:00pm Friday, May 28, 2021 at the Waterbury Funeral Services of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave.

Mike Muir was born January 25, 1954 in Fort Benning, Georgia son of Vilas and Lenna (Hill) Muir. While Mike’s father was in the Miltary, Mike lived in Japan and Germany. He graduated in 1973 from North Cobb Acworth High School. Mike entered the United State Army in 1973, and was a Paratrooper for the 82 ^nd Airborne, Fort Bragg, NC, from 1973 -1976. Mike served in the Army National Guard from 1994 until 2012, and served in Afghanistan in 2010 - 2011; he was a Linguist Manager at the Bagram Air Base where he managed over 240 linguists. Mike retired from the Military on January 11, 2012. He was employed at the 185 ^th Air Base Fire Department from 1990 until 2013.

Mike loved being with his grandkids and attending their sporting events. He was a Georgia Bulldogs fan, enjoyed hunting and ice fishing, riding motorcycle, and his mother’s Southern cooking. He was a member the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Becky of Sioux City, mother, Lenna Muir of Acworth, GA, son, Cody (Laura) of Mart, TX, two daughters, Katie (Alex) Enriquez of Akron, IA, Jennifer Bell of Acworth, GA, five grandchildren, Ciara, Cy, Laikyn, Tripp, Kinsley, his beloved dog, Zeke, and cat, Angelica.

Mike is preceded in death by his father and sister.
