Obituary

Michelle (Micki) Kay Sherrill, 49, of South Sioux City, NE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4 th , 2015, in her Arizona home surrounded by her daughter and granddaughters.

Services will be held at 10am on Friday, April 10 th ,at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans ave.  A visitation will be held from 4-8 with family present from 6-8 on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the funeral home.  Burial will be held at Memori al Park Cemetery following the service.

Michelle was born in Sioux City on January 8 th , 1966 to Albert W. Sherrill and Gloria L. Donovan Thompson.

Following the birth of her daughter, Michelle was injured in a swimming accident on June 26, 1984 resulting in quadriplegia.  Faced with overwhelming challenges, she went on to live a positive and fulfilling life.  Michelle was a very inspiring woman, with a great outlook on life.  She touched the hearts of many who were fortunate to know her.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Heinz; son-in-law, Nicholas Heinz; and two granddaughters, Desiree Free and Alexandria Benoit, all of Sierra Vista, Arizona; mother, Gloria Donovan Thompson of Sioux City; step-father, Duane Thompson of Sioux City; sister, Linda Barreras of Atlanta, Georgia; and two brothers, Douglas Sherrill of Charlottesville, Virginia; and Albert Sherrill Jr. and wife Joyce of Sioux City, step-mother, Frieda Sherrill of Sioux City and her children Jeffery Graybill and his wife Jody, Dan Graybill, Theresa Hineline, and Bridget Harras and her husband Gary; step brothers, Steve Thompson of Alabama and Tony Thompson and his wife Joy of Bronson, Iowa; step sisters, Renee Montriuel and her husband Glen of Sioux City and Tabitha Lower and her husband Tim of Lawton, Iowa, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert W. Sherrill and sister, LaZette M. Sherrill.
